2018 Travel with Erin

This year is shaping up to be a really interesting one full of changes, challenges and surprises! Bring it on I say!

I think this year is the year I take a bite out of the travel cake and visit some destinations with Erin by my side. There are so many destinations that we could visit this list could be endless. However this shouldn't be some "imaginary" wish list that is completely un-achievable. I want to be able to tick these off as we do them.

So lets dive into the list and see where we'd love to visit this year.

#1 Paris

Erin has mentioned a fair few times her wish to visit the "City of Love" so this has to be number 1 on the list. Paris has some of the finest food, drink, fashion, and picturesque views any city can offer so who am I to say no to holding my girlfriends hand whilst enjoying all that it has to offer. The Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, The Louvre, Notre-Dame Cathedral and Sacre-Coeur are amongst just a few of places we are looking forward to visiting. Watch this space for a full write up and check out Instagram (http://www.instagram.com/techandtravels) for photos and stories of time spent there.

#2 Iceland

We've all seen the images. The hot steam of the Blue Lagoon drifting amongst the beautiful icy landscape. The fancy hotels with rooms adorning glass roofs so you can lay back and look up at the starry sky. The multi-coloured luminescent sky of the aurora-borealis casting reflections in the glossy black waters or over the forests. Iceland is amongst some of the priciest places to visit but with views and experiences a plenty who could resit visiting and enjoying its charming ways. (Photo by Hotel Kakslauttanen)

#3 Florida

Who of us aren't kids at heart? If you are sat there saying "not me" you are lying. After the Warner Bros Harry Potter Studio Tour just outside Watford on a cold winters days in November,  surely the next step was obvious. Harry Potter World in Florida! Hot weather, Disney World, Universal Studios, Bush Gardens and Airboats across the Everglades are amongst just a few of the many things that come to mind and I am sure we will enjoy when we visit. #4 New York

Christmas in the UK is good, we all know that. The cold winters nights, the warm orange glow from the flames of the fire and the lights of the christmas tree bouncing warm subtle shadows around the room. All this whilst you are cuddled up cosy on the sofa whilst Kevin McCallister systematically makes two burglars lives miserable when they come acorss him home alone in a house they want to rob. Even with all of that who could resist the idea of visiting New York for Christmas? The city really does embody the whole idea of Christmas. The Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, Ground Zero.. the Apple Store on 5th? Maybe that is just me. Its a city which although massive in size has a warmth and feeling of home to it.  I think it would be the perfect place to finish off a years travels. (Photo by Stig Nygaard)

I think 4 main destinations is enough for the year, of course there are many more places home and away that we could fit in if we find gaps in our busy schedule, however this year is already shaping up to be a busy one. I'd like to find time to visit some of the more remote areas of Scotland for one, but this really depends what we do and the time we find.

I hope you look forward to joining us on the journey. Do you have travel plans for this year? If so let us know on the comments below.
